The mound of MASAKADO: 平 将門 @ Otemachi, 大手町 Tokyo

This is one of the well-known historic places in the heart of Tokyo, called MASAKADO-ZUKA 将門塚.
ZUKA means a mound / grave in Japanese. MASAKADO was a samurai commander in the mide-10th century,
who revolted against the Imperial Court and was killed after he conquered he whole KANTO region.
After his death in 940AD at the age of 38, he was beheaded as a traitor in Kyoto, and his head was placed on public display.
But the severed head howled in the night, and demanded to know where its body was. Eventually, the head
flew away from Kyoto to Tokyo by deep grudge of MASAKADO, and his head was washed by locals, buried it here.
And there were some fatal accidents when the mound was removed in 1923 by the ministry of finance and 1945 by GHQ.
It was said that those accidents were done by the curse of MASAKADO.
