Hiroshi Sugimoto is one of the most evaluated Japanese artists based in New York since the 1970s, who uses a large-format camera to produce minutely detailed photographic series. His work deals with history and temporal existence by investigating theme of time, empiricism and metaphysics. His work has received international acclaim; Tate Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Art, Metropolitan Museum of New York has collected his works. TOP Museum: Tokyo Photographic Art Museum holds his exhibition "Lost Human Genetic Archive" to celebrate the museum's grand reopening and 20 year anniversary.
