21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is one of the art venues at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi. This venue was born as a place to come up with and suggest design ideas with a focus in routine events and happenings.

As a place where visitors can be exposed to the pleasures of design and have new experiences filled with surprises.

The name: 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is read as "Two-one two-one design sight." It derives from the term on English for perfect vision, "20/20 Vision" ( or sight ), and was named to express our wish to become a venue that will generate design that sees even more clearly what is ahead. The logo is design after the often-seen Japanese address number plates, which represents 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT'S being a "place" of design, and the importance that design plays in everyday life.

21_21 DESIGN SIGHT holds a special show by a world-renowned architect, Frank Gehry. He is a Canadian - American architect known for postmodern designs, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain.

Frank Gehry has spent over half a century upending architectural norms and defying expectations. This exhibition focuses on Ghery's "idea." It introduces the background behind formation of ideas, the process up to their completion with vast numbers of models. It also features projection mapping where one can visually experience Gehry's architectures, along with "Gehry's Room" where one can get a feel for Gehry as a person.
