The Price Discount Method in Tokyo

Have you seen this kind of it? I am sure that all of you have seen it before,
however, you just don't remember where it is.
I took this picture at BIC Camera, Large-scale electric home applicance shop.
I would like to share the way to negotiate "The price discount".

In Osaka, West Japan, it is normal to negotiate "a price discount" with a seller. It is not shame to do it, however, in Tokyo area, it is a different story.
It could be rude if you negotiate "price discount" in east side of Japan.
So, we have to provid some reasonable factors for a price negotiation.

I bought a blue-ray recorder the other day to avoid missing a TV show that I want to watch. (99% of those TV show is not for me, for my son. Poor to me,,,)
I went to visit the shop several times and took a picture of the price, because those kind of price is changed mostly everyday.
When I decided that "I will buy it today" and went to the shop,
the price was about 10% higher compared to the price several days ago.
I asked a staff if "the price" is official or not. The staff said "yes".
Then I showed the staff the picture stating the lower price.
He went to the office and came back several minutes later, then told me
that the price I showed was accpepted. YEAH!!!!

I know that it is not really price negotiation, however,
it is very effective to purchase very expensive goods,
because we don't purchase them right away and take a few days to consider.

(Please note that an apartment rent is not changed like this).

I am sure that it will be fun and exciting for your shopping if you use this method.
