What was the reason that you moved to Japan?

Ultimately we moved to Japan because we wanted to experience another culture and give our kids an opportunity to have different experiences growing up. My work with a large Japanese company provided the opportunity to transfer here nearly 2 years ago .

About Apartment Hunting in Tokyo

This time, which area did you choose to live in?

Eifukucho, Suginami.

What made you decide to choose the apartment that you did?

We were previously living near Higashi-Matsubara station, which allowed our kids to take a direct train to their school near Shibuya. However, we were finding the rent too expensive. The home that Seiya found for us in Eifukuchou allowed us to save a great deal on rent while still allowing our kids to commute to school on a single train line. Even though Eifukuchou is slightly farther away, we are able to live closer to the station, and take advantage of the express train. As a result, my commute to work in Roppongi is about the same and sometimes even shorter. Eifukuchou also provides really quick access to one of our favorite areas in Tokyo - Kichijoji.
